Midweek Mini Bites 😊 – I am Returning Home!

How has your week been?

On Monday, I celebrated my 32nd Birthday with hubby. As he had to work, I practically spent three quarter of my birthday by myself, sewing away! If you remember, I wrote in my earlier post on ordering a sewing machine and searching online for DIY handicraft tutorials to keep myself occupied during weekends. My sewing machine and fabric arrived two weeks ago and I have been working on my first project, putting together a bag for my mother. Finally, I had it completed yesterday and in time for my trip back to the little red dot to surprise her with it!

Did a colourful patchwork for the inner lining as I intended to make a reversible one!

Monday Mini Bite 😊 – 1st Year Wedding Anniversary

How was your weekend?

Last Saturday was our first-year wedding anniversary! I had intended to bake a cake for hubby as a surprise on the day itself. I figured out he probably forgot about our anniversary since he has been bogged down with work lately. He was never really good at remembering birthdays or important dates either. But, he did……

Monday Mini Bites 😊 – Typhoon Tapah Dashed My Weekend Plans

How was your weekend?

I was looking forward to travel to Gunsan with hubby over the weekends. However, the strong wind and heavy rain caused by Typhoon Tapah dashed my hope. We literally stayed at home the entire day except for lunch. On Saturday, before the typhoon unleashed a heavy downpour in Gwangju, hubby drove out to our favourite Chinese restaurant for our usual comfort food- Jjamppong (Korean Spicy Noodles) and Tangsuyuk (Sweet and Sour Pork). Just as we stepped back into our house, big fat drops of rain pelted the streets.

Monday Mini Bites 😊 – Sushi Buffet and My Newly Bought Novel

How was your weekend?

Hubby and I visited the Boseong Green Tea Field on Saturday and we dropped by Chungjang-ro after our lunch yesterday to stock up on my novels.

Both of us were craving for sushi yesterday and so we decided to head to our all-time favourite sushi chain restaurant, Qooqoo Sushi Roll and Salad Bar. To our surprise, the outlet at Gwangju didn’t seemed as crowded as the outlets in Ilsan. There were plenty of seats to choose from and we got ourselves a private seat beside the window. We didn’t even have to queue for sushi! As usual, we charged directly for sushi, filling our stomachs full of rice rolls before we went for their special dishes for the month. I must say both the fried eel and the fried soft-shell crab tasted better than I expected. We concluded our buffet with a platter of fruits, a mini cheese cake and a cup of fragrant lavender tea. 48,000 won for the amount of food we wolfed down was definitely worth it!
